A Special Message for a Special Lady |
Thirty-One Years Ago…
I became the luckiest man alive
March 25, 1995, I married the love of my life. A lot has changed since then. We’re both a wee bit older, grayer (well, me anyway), and slower, but still very much together. Through all the ups and downs (and the good Lord knows there have been some!), she has shown herself to be courageous, generous, faithful, and always beautiful – inside and out.
This little video is a brief rehearsal as best I can reconstruct it of her life from birth right up to when we had our first child in 2004 (from there it’s mostly videos featuring children). But for these next 12 minutes, it’s all about Denise and her beautiful smile.
Credits
I have to post this here rather than Youtube because I do not have rights to any of the music. But each of these songs were important to us in those days .
You’re the Inspiration, Chicago, from Chicago 17 (1984)
Will You Still Love Me, Chicago, from Chicago 18 (1986)
We listened a lot of Chicago when driving from college to the various parents’ houses when we were dating and engaged. It was our make-out music (snicker).
Storms in Africa, Enya, from Watermark (1988)
This was the song to which Denise walked down the aisle. Here, you get to experience it as it happened.
Happy 31, Denise! And here’s to falling in love with you all over again!
